ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION (English translation)

Name – Registered office

ARTICLE 1
Hereby is constituted an international non-profit association, referred to as European Association of Law and Economics, having its registered office in Belgium, 9000 Ghent, Universiteitstraat 4, according to the Belgian law of June 27th, 1921 concerning non-profit associations, international non-profit associations and fondations.

The association may use its name in an abbreviated form, namely EALE.

Object

ARTICLE 2
The objectives of the association are to stimulate the study of Law and Economics; to provide assistance for scholars embarking on this field of research; to promote scientific research in Law and Economics; to organize and support congresses and conferences with the capacity to contract with local organizers to whom the association can confer all powers and liabilities; and to promote or to organize the use of criteria, analyses and models of Law and Economics within the framework of political and business management and jurisprudence.

The association is empowered to conduct all matters directly or indirectly linked to its objectives. It may in particular take part in and deal with any activity similar to its objectives.
