Joint EALE and Geneva Association Seminars
The 20th Joint Seminar of the International Association for the Study of Insurance Economics (The Geneva Association) and the European Association of Law and Economics (EALE) will be hosted by the Jagiellonian University in Kraków on 13-14 June 2024 (local organiser is Prof. Piotr Tereszkiewicz). Any papers dealing with the legal and economic implications of the use of digital technology by the (re)insurance industry are invited. Abstracts should be submitted by 10 February 2024 to the Conference Secretary Dr Julia Zawadzka at julita.zawadzka@uj.edu.pl and in copy to piotr.tereszkiewicz@uj.edu.pl .
A selection of the papers from the seminar will thereafter be invited for publication in The Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance—Issues and Practice.

The 16th Joint Seminar of the International Association for the Study of Insurance Economics (The Geneva Association) and the European Association of Law and Economics (EALE) will commemorate the work of its founding father Göran Skogh, who died on 11 May 2014. The topic of the seminar will be in the spirit of his seminal 2008 paper on the theory of risk sharing and insurance. Any papers dealing with the institutional implications of insurance contracts and risk-sharing agreements, including public support, for catastrophic loss are invited.
